I’m a Dr and I totally agree with this. The only thing they also need to know is that a local government clinic or hospital will not give it it them. Yes it’s free provided you come in and as the Dr on the floor I see the need to give it.

And we see sick patients, we don’t cater for patients that walk in and ask for an IV line because they went out last night 💀
Especially if this would be on a weekend because only our casualty/ Accident & Emergency unit is open and it’s for emergencies.

With the work burden on hospital staff, casually suggesting people go get IV fluids/parbinex or whatever at their local clinic or hospital is crazy 😂
