Excited to share this new review! We surveyed the current state of art for bioenergetic inhibitors in Mycobacterium tuberculosis and we discuss how current models of antibiotic-induced cell death fail to adequately describe their mechanism of action. https://t.co/8WhFwb81te

Hey everyone, I'm Tonya, a 6th year MD/PhD candidate @EinsteinMed. My research is focused on determining how inflammation affects plasma cell survival and function. This work aims to show how inflammation depletes pre-existing antibody titers. #BlackinImmunoRollCall.

When I entered med. school (no docs in fam), I assumed: 1 Med education would primarily train me to be a doc 2 Cancer screening is an unalloyed good 3 When docs recommend Rx, they knew those Rx work 4 Hours/ schedule worked were based on optimizing education I was wrong x 4

Follow up: After we wrote about how @NYPDShea and his troops have stolen public space around stationhouses, @Vagoish discovered @NYPD26Pct has done it INSIDE Carl Schurz Park, inconveniencing @NYCferry commuters and raising the specter of racial bias:

When I started reading this, I thought it was going to be another version of the classic “physician becomes patient” essay. It wasnt. If you teach students or residents, please take a moment to read this... and maybe my thoughts below, too. (thread) https://t.co/OwKrbpxoLV

Yes. I’m not an expert. But I’m also not short on opinions. So here’s my advice on interviewing at pediatric residency programs. (thread)

An exciting update! We used the PROSPECT M. #tuberculosis chemical genetics platform to discover 2 distinct compounds💊 targeting 1 essential protein. They're synergistic, AND resistance to either one can cause hypersensitivity to the other! 👇1/5 https://t.co/yKUA598EjZ

New publication from the Berney Lab! We found that the aspartate family biosynthetic pathway is a viable space for drug development. In particular, loss of threonine feedback leads to uncontrolled lysine biosynthesis suggesting a unique mechanism of death.

In response to this thread about using #USMLE Step 1 scores for residency selection, many people have asked some variation of this question: “But without Step 1 scores, how will we possibly select residency applicants?” I have a few things to say about that. (1/x)

Today, I reviewed course feedback for a second-year medical school course. In response to a request for areas for improvement, one student wrote this. The sentiment is extremely common, but rarely have I seen it stated so succinctly.
