The
#OntarioPlace
proposal is the most unimaginative, uncreative, bland idea. I can’t believe after 10 years this is what we’re offered. It has no cultural significance, turns it’s back to the lake, and will not be open for everyone.

I just can’t believe this is the best idea that the people in charge can come up with. It’s not world class. It’s basic. And boring. I don’t have any confidence that our strong Mayor will show any opposition….

What about a land swap with the city? Give them part of the ex that faces the lakeshore for this mess, and let the city take over a chunk of Ontario Place as a park
@TonySoprannnnoo
I never said I had all the answers. I just don’t think an expensive spa is the way to go. It doesn’t represent Ontario or Canada. It turns it’s back to the lake and has zero cultural significance. We can do better. We should do better.
@Beth_Levy66
And for all the land acknowledgments that we see and hear all over the place, this proves that those are just formalities and our governments still don't give a damn about the land itself and who it belongs to
@Beth_Levy66
I was at the public consultation meeting and yeah, it’s boring. The spa is a done deal with a bit of pedestrian space around it. Boring children’s area, standard “Main Street” shops (no confirmation it won’t be chains) and no Indigenous input. Typical bland Toronto.
