People are getting really upset at this girl for having braids. They’re calling it cultural appropriation.

@Barry4the44th @stillgray She only made it trendy amongst yt ppl bc these styles were worn and still being worn by BW at the time. Braids have always been a thing for black ppl…it’s not just a trend for us.

@heard_kay @stillgray Okay. Could say the same thing for straight hair. If white girls braiding their hair into cornrows is "cultural appropriation" or some other sillyness, then black girls straighting their hair is as well. Cuts both ways.
