It was lovely to welcome back our Class of 2025 for their Presentation of Awards evening. Thank you to former Head Boy Kasom Shah for his inspirational speech. Kasom is Player Care Officer at @Rovers It was fantastic to see everyone and celebrate their remarkable achievements.

Pupils had the chance to learn more about different religions and the positive impact of faith with a host of visitors to school.

Year 7-9 pupils came off timetable to take part in Bollywood dancing, Sikh drumming and Buddhist and Christian Meditation on Interfaith Day, which was a celebration of all the lived faiths in our community.

The choir performed wartime songs such as âPack Up Your Troubles,â âWhite Cliffs of Doverâ and âWeâll Meet Again.â The school band played a number of wartime songs, there was a performance by the drama department while Music Teacher Mr Snowden played The Last Post.

These, along with cadets, current service personnel, veterans and the community, enjoyed entertainment, coffee and cakes in school. The event was organised by Curriculum Leader of Performing Arts Mrs Pagliuca .

There was also Major Eddy Hardaker, who is retiring after 47 years of service next year, and Cecilia Edmondson, who celebrated her 100th birthday this weekend.

âIt moved me to tearsâ was a poignant reaction as we held our annual Afternoon of Remembrance. There were a number of special guests including the Deputy Lieutenant of Lancashire, Cosima Towneley.

Another stunning Afternoon of Remembrance .. amazing pupils who make me so so proud 𼚠a joy to work with and so nice to see so many familiar faces as this is now the 3rd year and we are starting to build a community. Thank you to all involved!

Head Boy Dawud was short-listed in the prestigious @JohnLockeInst âGlobal Essay Prize.â This is an international essay contest aimed at encouraging pupils to engage in critical thinking across subjects such as philosophy, politics, economics, history, psychology, and theology.

Our School Council met with veteran David Benson who works at @BurnleyFC_Com He shared his experiences in the army and talked to pupils about Remembrance. Pupils had lots of interesting questions and look forward to seeing him again at our Afternoon of Remembrance on Monday.

đ26 pupils are excited to see their work published in a book called âGrim Tales.â This is a @YoungWritersCW creative story competition where pupils wrote a 100-word horror story. Y8 Christopher said: âItâs one of my dreams to have my writing published so this is exciting."
