@BBCNews Good to see you reporting this, as it is an issue I have faced myself before Covid. Really important to signpost people to services people can use. I used BT Basic, which is now BT Essentials, others available too. Broadband is now as essential utility, many need to access help.

@BBCNews 'Social tariffs should be the industry's safety net' didn't Corbyn offer free broadband services, BBC, no you wouldn't remember you were too busy implicating him as a spy.

@BBCNews I'm paying ยฃ54 a month with BT, up nearly ยฃ10 with April increases, and had an engineer out twice in the space of a month for technical issues, yet when I've complained about the service they say its fine, obviously hence the 2 call outs, rip off Britain.

@BBCNews Iโ€™m going to cancel my @EE mobile as soon as contract allows and cannot wait, despite staying with the company half of my fairly long adult life.. just endless greed.

@Fran_sez Hi Fran, I hope you're doing well this Friday morning, other than this of course. It would be such a shame to see you leave our network after all this time, if there's anything that you need support with, I'll gladly give you a helping hand. Please feel free to DM me ๐Ÿ‘ -Matty

@BBCNews UK gov bought out a satellite internet company no worries. O wait we can not send satellites to space in the UK to finish the network and it is not up and running. A nationally owned broadband company providing state broadband would be good.

@BBCNews More to the point, one million cancelled their agreements with greedy providers, but moved to cheaper alternatives!

@BBCNews You can get mobile phone deals that have unlimited data so you may as well Hotspot that, cut out the need for a phone line and broadband.

@BBCNews Sometimes that's the reality, when you've been in that position. When you have a choice to pay rent or the electric. Things like broadband, mobile phone and often new clothes get cut out of the household budget. I know it too well when I was on my own after a breakup.

@BBCNews I pay 48 pounds a month for my mobile & unlimited broadband combined. When I moved house I thought I'd go somewhere else but everything else was at least double. What for? Same for TV packages etc. They are just ripping people off
