Finally! We are excited to announce the dates of the public inquiry into Fastglobe's failed planning applications. At Follaton House, it's a chance for the public to learn the facts about what has happened since Fastglobe acquired the keys to the site in early 2020. #totnes

Number one, affordable housing. Followed by new jobs, new skills and new opportunities for local businesses, in a new community-led architectural space where nature and the environment can thrive too.

Fastglobeās plan was completely lacking when it came to the fundamental things that Totnes and the South Hams needs.

The words the planning officers has used says it all; words and phrases like lacking, insufficient, unacceptable and fundamentally at odds echo through the councilās decision. At Atmos for Totnes, we agree.

Atmos For Totnes welcome this bold and powerful decision by @SouthHams_DC . This isnāt just a refusal, this is a damning and detailed dismissal of @Fastglobe unsuitable plan for Totnes and the South Hams. #atmosfortotnes #totnes #communitybuilding #affordablehousing #planning

The site is so important to Totnes, both for its position at the gateway to our town and one of the last remaining brownfield sites in the town.

There are now 800 comments, of which over 750 were objections to the outline planning application, with only 32 in favour. This somewhat belies the comment made by the Brunel Park Partnership in the Western Morning News that said, āthere are passionate feelings on both sidesā.

There has been an unprecedented response, showing how engaged people are in the future of their town and a site of such importance to them.
