Fastglobe’s plan was completely lacking when it came to the fundamental things that Totnes and the South Hams needs.

The words the planning officers has used says it all; words and phrases like lacking, insufficient, unacceptable and fundamentally at odds echo through the council’s decision. At Atmos for Totnes, we agree.

The site is so important to Totnes, both for its position at the gateway to our town and one of the last remaining brownfield sites in the town.

Objections from: TTC Totnes and District Society Devon Wildlife Trust Flood and Coastal Risk Management Team Environment Agency Devon Highways Devon County Council Affordable Housing Officer Natural Environment Tree Specialists at South Hams West Devon Borough Council

There are now 800 comments, of which over 750 were objections to the outline planning application, with only 32 in favour. This somewhat belies the comment made by the Brunel Park Partnership in the Western Morning News that said, “there are passionate feelings on both sides”.

There has been an unprecedented response, showing how engaged people are in the future of their town and a site of such importance to them.
