Right? Also it's presenting as a combo of strep and scarlet fever as if one or the other wasn't bad enough.

I had Scarlett fever as a teen. Untreated until my sister got sick too. 30 years later I have half a dozen autoimmune diseases. Some doctors suspect Scarlett fever as the possible trigger point.

Had Scarlet Fever at 16. Never been so sick and I couldn't swallow cause my throat hurt so bad

Dad went deaf at age 6 from scarlet fever.
Deafness, and heart damage are the two most common historical results.
Of course all these kids are immune compromised from covid

Scarlet fever is always possible w/a Strep A infection. It's treated by antibiotics and can be detected with a throat culture (as are cases of strep throat.) COVID has caused immunosuppression in many children who weren't so vulnerable before. Antibiotic resistance is also up.
