Days like today at work remind me of how hard it is to be a family member watching your loved ones fade away and often not symptom free. The pain and heartbreak comes right back like a smack in the face and I remember being that relative and feeling the same. 💔

Today our team stood outside our office to pay respects to a patient who we visited for several years as her funeral procession passed by on her final journey. Goodbyes are always difficult for our team as we build relationships with our patients and their families.

What an absolute pleasure to arrange this for my patient. Very emotional this morning while trying his best to say his vows and then he died peacefully surrounded by his new wife and his family. I love my job 💖
An emotional 24hrs supporting an end of life patient to marry their partner after 40 years. We arranged the registrar, letter from consultant, transported wife to fill in paperwork and got patient ready for the wedding. 10 mins after the vows patient peacefully passed away.

Yesterday we wished Ant good luck and goodbye as he finished his DN training with us at @Worksopnurses. I for one am going to miss him but I have gained a friend. It’s been a pleasure to be your supervisor you’re going to be an amazing DN. @smalley_anthony @CrystalOldman

R&R was definitely needed was starting to feel the effects of burnout and now I feel refreshed, revived and ready to go again. Never under estimate the effects of burn out and talk to the people around you. Never feel shame to reach out 💖
