On Saturday @AShouldersEcon will present her work on unintended consequences of naloxone prescription laws. Catch her at 10:15 on Saturday at APPAM 2024. She just successfully defended her dissertation and accepted a job as a data scientist at the Yale School of Public Health.

I was glad to talk to Cassie Cornwell about the recent drop in opioid deaths. This is a promising sign, but the next step is getting more folks connected to treatment. https://t.co/0NjKFnYmHS

I'm getting ready to do a literature deep dive on programs to improve maternal and infant health, with an emphasis on cost-effectiveness and black and rural populations. What papers are my must-reads? Self-promotion welcome! #EconTwitter

This study by @AShouldersEcon & @Alicia_Plemmons is the first to test mental health care supply under varying psychologist prescriptive authority. Amid a psychiatrist shortage, the study shows that expanding prescriptive authority can increase mental health care supply.
New study: "expanding scope of practice led to a 0.8-location increase in the number of psychologist offices per 100,000 residents per county... often in counties that did not have options for mental and behavioral healthcare before the policy change." https://t.co/GoSWATwU3B
