Wonderful piece, by @AmyArgetsinger, on the theme to "All In The Family". https://t.co/M2lpZB9I1u

“Those Were the Days,” co-written by the late Charles Strouse, revolutionized the form — while slyly mocking Archie Bunker’s worldview.

It’s pretty much just a niche community event at this point. Streamed on YouTube by about 220k viewers, which as we know would include people who tuned in for less than two minutes.
How far has Miss America fallen? Did anyone know that the competition was last night? Could you even watch it anywhere? What's even more crazy is if you go to https://t.co/5yWkLtUc5m as of 1:25 p.m. today there isn't even anything posted about who won! Yikes @AmyArgetsinger!

Miss America and Miss USA/Universe are often mistaken for being the same, but they’re actually quite different. @AmyArgetsinger breaks it down in this clip.

When children die & reporters ask if people in a position to have intervened did their jobs, the answer is always that they can’t talk about it, & eventually it fades from the public’s collective memory. It’s not right. This 5 y/o girl weighed 17 pounds:

I don't belong to Amazon Prime. I do subscribe to the Washington Post, which out of years-long habit remains the first paper I open every morning, and will continue to do so, thanks to all the great journalists working there.

Some folks are going to want their @washingtonpost subscriptions back to read this one: Elon Musk, enemy of ‘open borders,’ launched his career working illegally

Flashback to the time I spent hours making a gif of the perfect Kristofferson moment. I don’t really know how to make gifs but the people who do haven’t devoted enough attention to him.

A friend once reported seeing Dame Maggie in a long, fond, conversation with Keith Richards at the Golden Globes -- which seemed surprising, but shouldn't have been. Two pace-setting geniuses of Swingin' London. Of course they had a lot to talk about.

The Internet is telling me "History of the Eagles" was only 3 hours long. I'm not so sure.

I wasn't aware of JD Souther until he turned up in an insane Eagles 6-hr documentary, where Don Henley reverently cited him for declaring that "time passes, things change." I began to realize the Eagles might be in on the joke and hate them a lot less.

He penned hits for the Eagles, Linda Ronstadt and James Taylor and found a burst of solo success with “You’re Only Lonely.”
