Here’s a little rundown on the detainment:
So yesterday I stayed near patriot front and continued filming until the last 1 remaining was unmasked. Afterwards I started to make my way to the car. The day got really hot really fast, and the car was scorching hot, so the doors were
left opened to cool it off a bit. I sat on the sidewalk right next to it to cool off and take a break. A police car pulled up within less than 5 minutes. It was one sheriff in the vehicle and he parked and got out of the car. He immediately began asking questions. After I didn’t
answer them he proceeded to tell me that I was breaking the law by having the doors open. I was parked on a very wide street, but he said that I was blocking the road which is against the law. I closed the doors facing the street and the sheriff continued to try to ask questions.
I had a bad feeling and felt really weird in this moment below. Around the 1:48 mark you see a cop waving at me. Right after he says to a cop next to him “there’s your girl, the one filming” and then goes on to call me out by name and says “Azar.” It’s hard to hear in full as
someone tried to talk to me at that moment but if you listen closely you can hear it. One of the cops involved in that interaction was present when I was detained and I have no doubts that I was targeted & followed.
One of those cops that showed up after the sheriff then walked over to me and said “Ok Azar, I just need to talk to you for a minute.” I asked if I was being detained and he said no. He then went on to ask me what my involvement with the van was. I legitimately had no idea what
he was talking about. The van? What van? The QT, I heard someone got arrested & ran over to see what was happening. I was filled in by people who witnessed it, but I didn’t see what happened myself. I guess the fascists who were harassing her surrounded her & were driving a van.
He then proceeds to question me about the patriot front arrest. After asking me why I was in idaho he said that the cops noticed I was one of the first people on the scene where they all got pulled out of the uhaul & was curious how that was possible. They are beyond incompetent.
I saw a sheriff running with some armed fascists and I followed them. Pretty simple, especially considered a ton of other people did the same thing and I was definitely not the first one there. Anyways, after this they had me sit back down and that’s when the sheriff said
“Ok. NOW you’re being detained.” I thought this was a joke at first, but they were serious. The sheriff left for a moment as the other cops began taking a ton of pictures of me on their phones. The sheriff came back with his K9 and the cops began searching every inch of the car
and messing everything up. I knew that what they were doing was illegal, but often times in situations like that there’s not much you can do, especially if you’re in fear of them escalating and making things worse. Cops constantly lie and get away with whatever they want. Soon
after the search I was let go & luckily I’m fine, this is a great reminder 4 myself & EVERYONE to touch up on our rights. Memorize all of it. Know what information you’re *required* to give & only give that. Don’t give them more & don’t answer any questions. They’re manipulative
@AlissaAzar
Thanks for the update. It probably won't be the last time that the guilty are ignored and the ones that are there to tell the story are who get punished. Sage advice to be aware of exactly what your rights are!
@AlissaAzar
im wondering if you believe what the cda chief of police told NYT about how they caught wind of the threat (he said a "concerned citizen" called when they saw them loading into the van on nw blvd near i-90)
personally i don't. i don't think they wanna admit they were told...
