I wonder how the aquatic communities are affected by those contaminants? I know there have been some (lab) studies on pharmaceuticals but there is so much more to be done here. I feel the distinct urge to back my net and go on a field trip.
Persistent contaminants of emerging concern in a #greatlakes urban-dominant watershed. Synthetic sweeteners 55.7% of cumulative concentration of all compounds detected, followed by pesticides (27.5%), pharmaceuticals (11.7%), and stimulants (3.5%).

Spent the last few hours staring through the stereoscope documenting some of my buggos 🦟🕷️🐞 personally, I think they are quite beautiful. And I know I'm not alone with that opinion 🥰
