I wrote down my thoughts on the ongoing push for censorship by the western governments. Read it while it's up-to-date! Apologies for the less-than-professional tone and expressions used 😁 https://t.co/TKgglvCf4D

I am getting deja-vu. I can't remember if it's from the last ICTA proposal in Mauritius for regulating "harmful content" on social media. Or if it's from when the government shut down access to...

Sort notice, but we're hosting a Cloud Native Mauritius meetup this weekend at Kuumba Coffee, Telfair. Usual time of 10 to 2. This meetup is not sponsored, so no free lunch :P We still have a slot or two open, so please get in touch if you have a talk idea!

There is one good thing about the fascist Chat Control: all the kids will learn to use VPN & other privacy tools + learn to hate the state, as it should be.

@ReginaDo @EPPGroup You're an imbecile. This won't stop anything. The kids on social media don't have parents who actually "parent". All they're going to do is find a bypass or convince their parent (or some other adult) to allow them access to the social media platform. You've just given large

EU Officials are exempt from Chat Control. You’ll be under surveillance, they won’t. Convenient.
The EU weaponizes people’s strong emotions about child protection to push mass surveillance and censorship. Their surveillance law proposals conveniently exempted EU officials from having their own messages scanned — and David’s post helps explain why.

Or also how the change to the database query got through QA. The point isn't to have 100% uptime on services and not have bugs, but rather to mitigate the scale that one bug can have, and not let one service cascade into a global outage. But whatever, I'm not a dev 😁

Hmm, maybe people are busy. Anyways, I was thinking that no service is bug-free. With CF being made up of many interconnected applications, the question isn't about .unwrap() but rather why that service failing brought everything else down.
Saw a lot of yap about how Rust is to blame for the Cloudflare outage. Given I'm not a C person and am not an advanced Rust dev, I'm curious to hear why exactly.

Do people take this journal/news/magazine/whatever seriously?
September, 26: Cloudflare rewritten in “memory safe” Rust. The change is touted as “faster and more secure” because of Rust. https://t.co/Mpy43z5S8A November, 18 (53 days later): Cloudflare has a massive outage, which took down large portions of the Internet, because of a

Complaint about MCB (again). I want to buy something on Bandcamp, which directs me to PayPal. Cool. I cannot use existing PayPal balance, so I go link my card. Then the largest commercial bank of MU refuses to let me link my card, also preventing me from verifying my PayPal acc.

It is on https://t.co/PO2IUeG1v2 though you need a beta code to create an account. You're still welcome to try and break it and create more GitHub issues!

Small update, some 200 commits later, I have only 6 open issues left of 27 (most of which idc about). I also have a Rust crate specifically for K3k clusters, built around kube-rs. And I have a pretty UI for users to create and manage virtual clusters and their accounts.
I made a small project built around K3k to run workshops on Kubernetes without needing free credits for CSPs. It has several nice features making it a "cloud platform from wish" which is FOSS and can be deployed anywhere. https://t.co/5dicijfHYl
