When they talk about the energy required for running the bitcoin network, they will not spend even a second thinking about the energy requirement of running the monetary system, including its institutions and infrastructure.
They will accept that precious metal / diamonds have value only because people believe that they have value. But that doesn't lead them to label such precious metal / diamonds worthless.
The most of vociferous opponents of crypto are people who have a background in finance. They will use the tenets of their religion (traditional finance), to denounce the other religion (crypto).
While opponents will never fail to mention the potential for misuse of a partially anonymous crypto network, they do not use the same logic to recommend ban of cash, given that cash is far more anonymous than crypto.
Opponents will rely on extreme, fringe, and highly marginal examples of some random meme coin and draw the conclusion that the crypto paradigm is ridiculous. They will never use such an extreme example to ridicule the stock market or other areas of conventional finance

@monikahalan
Beautifully put. Im neither pro or against crypto, I just don’t understand it yet and this surely helps bring a very rational perspective on the table. Thank you!
@AjeetK
Exactly khurana ji.. Moreover what's the use case of gold, diamond and painting except we just value them nevertheless.. Those in banking /economy are just afraid that they will become irrelevant, things are moving faster than them
@AjeetK
Very nicely done Ajeet. Crypto needs more such simplification & apples to apples comparisons being put out. Most opponents must've grown up intoning "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" & believing it because that's what they were taught, with no thought as to what it means.
