For my students, I am a teacher; for my academic colleagues, I am a researcher; for my readers, I am an author; and for my great teachers, I am nothing but a student. These IDENTITIES travel with my Muslimness without any contradiction. It pains when I am addressed ONLY as MUSLIM
@Ahmed1Hilal
Think about Hindus. A Hindu has to eat beef like Ram Guha to be secular. Support Babri like Mani Iyer to be liberal. Let go her Kashmiri homeland as Prashant Bhushan’s legal view is that Raja Hari singh signed some deed which makes it different.
Else a Hindu is a fascist Bhakt.
@Ahmed1Hilal
@Ahmed1Hilal
@Ahmed1Hilal
@AzmiShabana
When you say that "These identities travel with my Muslimness WITHOUT any CONTRADICTION" then why you have an issue if someone calls you "Muslim". What's the issue really? You want people to control their words?
@Ahmed1Hilal
I totally agree . To be a muslim is personal choice and nothing to do with other identities and all identities are sub identities but equally important to our identity as Indians and concern for all Indians and that is India
@Ahmed1Hilal
Unfortunately the a section of the so called leaders of this Community itself , "politicians" , and vote based politics are responsible as much as some historic reasons in the sub continent- very very unfortunate
@Ahmed1Hilal
Unfortunately you belong to the religion which prosecuted, forced religious conversions or killed maximum people across the world. Islam produced maximum number of Militants, terrorists and fanatics. Please check the history
@Ahmed1Hilal
It all started when
@INCIndia
in all its wisdom thot 2 Muslims in the CWC fulfiilled the need to meet Muslim representation. Their resourcefulness / performance was never bought into Qt their identity was more than enough. That permeated or gained acceptance over period of time?
@Ahmed1Hilal
It is difficult for the silent minority. But unfortunately vast majority of Muslims insists on their Muslimness first before any other identity. It inflicts other communities over time. Change begins within first.
@Ahmed1Hilal
If u identify urself as INDIAN first & Muslim later than there won't be any problem. Since u carry ur MUSLIM identity FIRST & PEOPLE understand what does it means, so u will be certainly look differently....
