While the news isn’t all bad, the updated Age Alliance review demonstrates ‘slow progress’ at best as 12 of 14 key policy commitments relevant to an ageing population are either awarded a ‘reduced’ or ‘holding’ grade when compared with February 2024. https://t.co/mEDivUh5QY

Age Alliance, for the new PfG,…is prioritising three asks: (1 of 3) Establish Independent Commissioner for Ageing + Older People, similar to both NI and Wales, to prioritise older people’s issues and resource the active implementation of National Positive Ageing Strategy (2013)

Many factors impact on our ability to age well. All too many older people experience challenges relating to income, housing, health, transport, work, energy, education and digital communications. We need an Independent Commissioner for Ageing and Older People. @AgeSector
