I'm now wondering who from the first-movers or fast-followers will rule that innovation battle, which hasn't started yesterday and isn't going to end any time soon.

The most outstanding achievement of ChatGPT is to get everyone talking about the power of AI. ML folks, engineers, product people, execs, my teams, my managers, my neighbors, my wife, my son (my cats are working on CatGPT). Everyone has become a prompt engineer and an LLM expert.

Similar to how people now shop for clothes more responsibly with sustainability and durability in mind, maybe companies should now evaluate each open role and add a line to the job description to inform the candidates about the chances of survival at different time horizons.

What's the role of luck in all this? And what is actually resulting from the decisions made throughout? Responsibility seems to be everywhere and nowhere. The fool is everybody and nobody.

If companies struggle because of economic reality, then is it fair to assert that companies thrive for a different reason?
