Focus on the fourth and equally as important target of 95% of PLWHIV on treatment experiencing good health-related quality of life, including a significant reduction in stigma, is an essential component to achieving our goals. The work continues. ✊🏻

To reach the first ‘95’ goal, I believe more creative, innovative approaches with affected communities at the centre will be key. Additionally, this report does not address the issue of HIV-related stigma and quality of life for people living with HIV.

Despite significant progress since the last audit in 2018, it’s estimated that 10% of people living with HIV remain unaware of their status. Initiatives like community rapid testing, self-testing & home sampling are important approaches to improve choice in knowing your status.

🇮🇪 Ireland achieves 90-99-99 in its progress towards the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets to end the HIV epidemic by 2030. Excellent HIV treatment audit produced by colleagues from HSE Sexual Health and @hpscireland with data from HIV clinics across the country. https://t.co/Uyym5K2DJS

Really happy to share that collective advocacy, working closely with community & HSE colleagues, has led to interim guidance on #DoxyPEP in Ireland. https://t.co/pWUOl4X0SG We’ve created a community guide to DoxyPEP available at the link above and soon in community spaces. 💟

Great to speak with the HSE Public Health team for Dublin & the Midlands. Our discussion centered on increasing cultural awareness of gbMSM and the role sex plays in our lives so the team are better equipped to handle sensitive conversations had with those who acquire an STI. 🏳️🌈

During and since the last mpox PHEIC in 2022, diagnostics, vaccines and treatment were not available in the global South. It’s critical that Europe and the US hear this call from African nations and step up. There’s no need to repeat mistakes of the past.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the mpox surge in Africa a global public health emergency, sounding its highest possible alarm over the worsening situation https://t.co/bD1UI4CPlB

Really glad to see this issue being highlighted in Irish media. People living with HIV should not be forced to travel elsewhere for IVF or other fertility treatments. Unfortunately this issue is deeply rooted in outdated EU law, but not in line with current evidence. Despite the
I first met Ainy when I did a piece on her baking business for CorkBeo. Two years later she got in touch because she wanted to talk about what it's like to be a woman in Ireland with HIV, who is trying to access fertility treatment. Read her story here. https://t.co/hgiBCXkA75

The IMJ article describes the extensive work that HSE colleagues put into standing up a response to the mpox outbreak. It describes how the gay community organised, informed, supported and successfully controlled the spread of a painful condition. Instead, RTÉ attempted shame?
