Just back in Lviv after another trip to Polessia. I can attest that it is relentless but beautiful wilderness, protected by truly tough people! I was counting up my mosquito bites into the hundreds! 🦟
#Summer is the busiest time of year for specialists conducting #FieldResearch in #WildPolesia. They endure many hardships & inconveniences in their quest to discover new information about the region's #wildlife. We wish them perseverance & good luck this season!

In the abandoned city of Pripyat, in the Ukrainian Chornobyl Exclusion Zone 🇺🇦 . A number of beautiful murals of wildlife. The Zone itself being much bigger than most European protected areas, hosts wildlife from bears to bison to wild horses. Hope, sadness and beauty combine.
