1) No DOJ has ever chucked a former president into prison before, so they have to present a meticulous case--a zillion witnesses and docs to track down;

Some of it is privilege, to be sure. But I believe that a lot of people who should be acting are fearful/paralyzed to act because of extortion, threats, and blackmail from Trump and his lackeys.
