@RiverTamYDN The Confederate monument at Arlington was paid for by the United Daughters of the Confederacy who put up many monuments in an attempt to rehabilitate the rebels' image and create the "Lost Cause" myth in the early 1900s.

"Reconciliation Monument" is a name that was made up in 2023 for the Confederate Memorial at Arlington by butthurt Confederate sympathizers. You literally can't find a single reference to it ever being called that from before 2023 on the entire internet.

@ALReproRightsAd @RiverTamYDN I mean, those were fathers, husbands, and sons, though, so a part of me believes they were built for more than that (in a spiritual sense).

@Green_Paraclete @ALReproRightsAd Literally every man who's ever lived has been a son. Y'all need to stop acting like being a son has some sort of special significance.

@ALReproRightsAd @RiverTamYDN Just at the time of the renaissance of the Klan and the height of lynching. Right when the introduction of the farm tractor made sharecroppers unneeded so they terrorized a whole population into moving north. There’s a word for that, but I just can’t remember it.

@patrickfcox_cox @RiverTamYDN I think the Great Migration refers to Black people who fled the South.
