#AL Drought Update‼️ After a wet early summer, AL is now rapidly drying out. Nearly 1/3 of AL is abnormally dry & Moderate Drought continues to plague Clarke County and the tri-state area. Beneficial storm systems could stave off worsening conditions this week. #ALDroughtUpdate

#AL Drought Update‼️ Abnormal Dryness expands in some counties & Moderate Drought is introduced in the tristate area. The ongoing heat could bring rapid dryness to areas that miss out on rain. Luckily, 1-2 inches is forecasted across much of the state this week. #ALDroughtReach

#AL Drought Update‼️ Abnormal dryness expanded in the tri-state area & in Clarke Co. South AL is drying out, with low rain & declining streamflows. Moderate drought could develop in the coming weeks, but a wet forecast over the next 5 days may bring some relief. #ALDroughtReach

#AL Drought Update‼️ It's been 5 weeks of 100% near-normal conditions according to the U.S. Drought Monitor, but there are a few areas showing early signs of abnormal dryness in the SE corner & in Clarke Co. due to ongoing high temps. #ALDroughtReach

#AL Drought Update‼️ AL is still 100% drought-free (that's 4 weeks now)! There are a few parts of far SE counties that are starting to see below-average rainfall, which the AL Office of the State Climatologist is keeping an eye on. @ALDroughtReach

#AL Drought Update‼️ After several weeks of normal or above normal rainfall, AL is almost back to hydrologic equilibrium. Only a sliver of abnormal dryness remains on the Dale/Henry County border where long-term trends still show slight deficits. #ALDroughtReach

#AL Drought Update‼️ After another week of above average rainfall, moderate drought was removed from Southeast AL & only 2% of abnormally dry conditions still remain in the tri-state area. Forecasts show a mixed bag of potential precip over the next 5-7 days. #ALDroughtReach

#AL Drought Update‼️ Last week was mostly warm & dry across AL - abnormal dryness was re-introduced on the MS border & across SE counties. Current precipitation, however, could bring 1+ inches of rain to North AL & over a 1/4 inch to South AL in the next 5 days. #ALDroughtReach

#AL Drought Update‼️ Severe weather across North & Central AL brought significant drought relief to many counties. More rain is needed, however, to replenish statewide deficits. Forecasted rain ( 1+ inches) should bring continued relief. #ALDroughtReach
