“Luxury”?! if he was soooo luxurious we wouldn’t have “invested” in Trey. You can’t spin the fact we would have traded him yesterday if we got something that didn’t cause our choice to stay with him so long to look so bad.

I dont think you understand the use of the term luxury in this case.
Yes, Trey Lance has the potential to be an elite QB (I love Lance btw) but having Garoppolo buys time for Lance to get his feet wet, learn the playbook and gain chemistry while not taking hits. Thats luxury

And likely lead them to the playoffs and at worst, afford the team time to not rush their new franchise QB out on the field while he masters the offense. While expensive, worth having

With a healthy Jimmy and a few of the other key players not being injured last year, the 9ers would have been back in the SB last Feb. and Jimmy would not be leaving and the 9ers would not have drafted a QB in the 1st round. But Jimmy never stays healthy, so...

Niners brass spoke of making the QB room a position of strength, and seems some folks and a lot of Media have a problem with that, I don't think the Niners care!

Might I add... When has a rookie qb ever won a SB? Trey should be awesome, but this team is ready right now. Imo, Jimmy and the team (namely Nick) being healthy makes this team scary.
