After 24 intense hours, we finished: 🏅 #265 globally 🇳🇬 #1 in Nigeria (unbeatable since the start) 💥 First Nigerian team to reach that score threshold 💥 First Nigerian team to hit Top 10 globally on the practice hub OAU @OAUniversity came top 3 All in our first attempt! 🔥

At one point, we hit #1 globally! 🌍 And we stayed #1 in Nigeria all through. We couldn’t sleep — adrenaline was too high 😂 Every solved problem felt like scoring a goal.

Then came the D-Day. 24hrs of coding, debugging, and brain-burning. 😅 Our structure worked: • I handled the fast/moderate problems • @enochidx tackled complex ones • @Sunmadeomoba optimized everything (no TLEs or MLEs 💪)

Within a month: 🥇 I ranked 5th globally on the IEEEXtreme practice hub (out of ~30k). 🥈 Enoch ranked 9th. We later combined efforts and pushed my account to 2nd in the world! 🚀 The 5Ps worked — Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance.

With my teammates @enochidx & @Sunmadeomoba , we formed Team Ixtrio 🔥 We practiced for weeks on LeetCode, Codeforces & CSAcademy (the official IEEEXtreme platform). We got humbled daily, but we didn’t stop. Consistency started paying off.

Through the IEEE community at OAU @ieeeoau , I heard about IEEEXtreme — 24 hours of pure coding and algorithmic problem-solving. ⚡ Unlike normal hackathons where you build apps, here it’s pure logic, efficiency & speed. That’s when I realized why DSA truly matters.

Hackathons became my growth loop 🔁 Win or lose, each one gave feedback. Just like how an AI model improves from feedback loops — I grew. That mindset built my confidence and curiosity for problem-solving and collaboration.

I’m in Computer Engineering — if they can, why can’t I? That moment planted a seed 🌱 Back then, I was still finding my path between hardware and software. Then came hackathons. At first, I thought they were for experts only. I was wrong.

My IEEE Xtreme 19.0 Experience — From curiosity to 24hrs of non-stop coding 💻⚡ It all started at an IEEE RAS hardware session at OAU. The host pointed to some seniors and called them “the 24hr coders.” I laughed 😅 “That can’t be real.” But deep down, I was challenged.
